TDS Park Reports, Tokyo DisneySea

Christmas at DisneySea

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Especially at the Tokyo Disney Resort parks. Today I’m going to share a small glimpse of what DisneySea is looking like this holiday season. I don’t have many decoration photos yet because the day I went I sat for 6 hours to get a front row seat at the Waterfront Park for Holiday Greetings from Seven Port, but I do have some nice photos from then and I hope you will enjoy them!

The tapestry at the entrance of DisneySea is looking very wintery this year with cooler colors than last year. I miss the cheerful red and to me the Mickey & Minnie banners look a little bit smaller and lonelier, but nonetheless it still looks really good!

I would love to spend a while day just walking around the park and taking photos of all the gorgeous Christmas trees. Mermaid Lagoon and Mysterious Island are probably some of my favorites! This, of course, is the tree from under the entrance!

When I first arrived at the park 6 hours seemed ages away, but thankfully the weather was nice and the time passed very quickly. I was able to get a seat right in front of the stage. At first I was a bit confused as to where to sit because the center fountain area of the Waterfront Park is also used as part of the show and the seating area was divided into 6 sections, but in the end decided I couldn’t go wrong by facing the stage. Next time I will try to snag on the side near Restaurant Sakura because it seemed that Donald spent quite a bit of time over there.

I know this photo isn’t very interesting, but I love these speaker towers. I’m not a sound expert at all, but I think that the shows at the Waterfront Park are superb. You can also see the snowflake decorations that look amazing at night. I’ll try to snap a photo the next time I go!

Mickey looks adorable in his red and green costume. I wonder if his gloves work with smartphones. Now, the show itself is pretty much the same as last year. I don’t have any complaint there though as I love this show so much. The costumes, the music, the story line and the characters are all perfect! In this show each port from DisneySea is represented by different characters who bring Christmas trees from their respective ports!

And of course Minnie cannot be forgotten! This adorable Minnie costume is known as Mitten-chan :D (Chan is a diminutive suffix; it expresses that the speaker finds a person endearing. In general, chan is used for babies, young children, grandparents and teenagers. It may also be used towards cute animals, lovers, close friends, any youthful woman, or between friends. – Wikipedia)

I wanted to get photos of all the characters in the show, but my paparazzi skills were not that good so I’ll just introduce the few that I was able to get photos of. Here is “Honest John” also known as J. Worthington Foulfellow! The Pinocchio clan represent the Mediterranean Harbor! I don’t have a photo from this year, but Pinocchio and Geppetto are absolutely adorable.

Genie looks very dashing in his Christmas outfit!

Did you know that Max is a very popular character at TDR? I love seeing the father-son bond between him and Goofy!

Max is an awesome dancer!

Ariel is so beautiful and so is her dress!

Chip looking adorable in his rainbow jacket.

That’s it for today, but here’s a final photo of the Christmas tree in Restaurant Sakura.
It’s decorated with Japanese style fans and balls :D

If you live near a Disney park I would love to hear about what kind of Christmas festivities are being held! Also, I would love to see your Christmas Donald costumes! I’ll be sharing my favorite Christmas Donald costumes with you over the next few weeks. I’ll also be going back to the parks for a lot more Christmas fun so if you have any photo requests or food tasting requests I would be more than happy to oblige! I would also like to thank my super amazing manager for editing my photos for me as I am a lazy bum. Please take a few minutes to check out her blog and awesome photos!
