Rackety’s Raccoon Saloon

Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood…I mean, in Critter Country there is a very wonderful snack spot that tends to get forgotten about. Today I ventured back past Splash Mountain to introduce the delicious treats at Rackety’s Raccoon Saloon! If you like both sweet and savory foods this may be the perfect location for you!

You can find Rackety’s Raccoon Saloon near Splash Mountain’s exit and for the longest time that was the only time I would walk by it. After falling in love with the Yucatan Sausage Dog at DisneySea I’ve amended my ways now and make frequent visits to get a delicious tortilla hot dog when I’m at Disneyland!

The menu is not super large, but there is a nice variety to choose from. I definitely would suggest trying on of everything! The Critter Sundae has different flavors depending on the season. I’ve always been a fan of the traditional cinnamon churro over the maple or honey flavored ones. I have found that the churros have become more dry since they became Mickey shaped.

Here is the stunning Critter Sundae! I always feel upset when there are too many cornflakes in the bottom of a parfait or sundae, but Rackety has figured out the perfect balance. With half of a Mickey churro stuck into the strawberry and milk swirl soft cream and topped with strawberry jam, this sundae is so delicious!

I’m a fan of savory snacks so of course we had to get the Tortilla Hot Dog and Tortilla Hot Dog with Cheese. The cheese isn’t overpowering at all nor is it too artificial tasting. With the saltiness of the hot dog I usually opt for the plain version, but if you’re a cheese lover I would definitely choose the cheesy version!

Nothing special, just a grape soda.

As I said in the beginning, it is quite a walk to get to Rackety’s Raccoon Saloon, but if you’re planning to ride Splash Mountain it’s right there as you exit the attraction, so don’t forget about this hidden spot at Tokyo Disneyland! If you’ve been or go here on your next trip make sure to let me know what you thought!

  1. The tortilla dogs crack me up! That’s something we would eat sometimes growing up, especially if we needed to go shopping. I never thought I would see a “real” one anywhere and of all places it’s in Japan!

  2. I found this snack shack a couple of weeks ago when the rest of my family needed to use the restrooms after a long wait for splash mountain. I gave my wife and children a bite of my sausage wrap on the way back to our stroller. The vote was unanimous to turn around and buy a few more. We will certainly be visiting this shop again in the future.
