DisneySea New Year’s Eve 2015/2016

Happy 2016! I’m a few days late, but here is a short recap of my time at the DisneySea New Year’s Eve event! This was my second time going to a New Year’s Eve event at Tokyo Disney Resort. Two years ago I was able to experience the countdown at Disneyland so I was super excited to find out that I would be celebrating 2016 at DisneySea!

I love the tickets for the event, I think the one day tickets should look like this too. We arrived at DisneySea around 4 PM and were directed to the R7 parking lot, which meant a long walk to the gates, but we weren’t surprised. By the time we reached the line it was very long and reached almost to the monorail station. After a short wait we were directed to sit in blocks in front of the ticket booths. In previous years the New Year’s Eve events have opened up to 30 minutes early, but this year I believe it was only 10 to 15 minutes early. I’m not sure of the exact time, but that was about when the lines started moving.

We ended up not using them, but here are the special monorail passes that we purchased with our countdown tickets. They’re good until March though so I’m sure they’ll get used at some point. I love this design though so I’ll be sure to keep these safe after using them and getting my monorail pin! (You can exchange three monorail passes with different dates for a special pin at the monorail station, but that’s another blog post ;D)

After the park opened we waited for Fantasmic! at Lido Isle and then moved up to the front to wait for the fireworks at midnight. Thankfully it wasn’t as cold as we expected it to be and it was a fairly pleasant wait. I just love the harbor at night!

There were a few different special limited edition foods to try and I went for the Italian Hot Pot from Cafe Portfino and the cute seasonal Japanese style teacup! The hot pot was delicious with large pieces of bacon, meatballs, and Italian sausage! It also had macaroni-like noodles and lots of veggies. It didn’t stay hot for too long because we were sitting out in the cold, but it was very tasty! The mousse was very yummy as well!

I loved sitting and listening to Disney Mania music while we waited for the fireworks! I know that there are mixed opinions about pop music being played in the parks, but if it’s pop Disney music who can complain, right? ;D I don’t have any good photos of the fireworks, but I do have a short vlog from that evening. Please check it out! :D
